The Taken Was Never Yours
Everything that was taken from You, was taken by God.
The moment I think of this sentence, it is no more hard for me to let go. Of the person, things, relationships and all kinds of attachments. Because one thing time has taught me is that you do not need someone or something by your side to unconditionally love them. Love like that turns into the kind of prayer that never falters.
The way I see it, I was wrong to once wish I was the old me again. How can we ever be the old us when we have lost those parts of us and those parts have been replaced by pieces of those who chose to replace them. In simpler words, if I met you five years ago and if we no longer talk, that doesn't we're rid of each other. It means that we took a piece of ourself out and gave it to one another. And even after all this time, your piece is still a part of my whole and mine is a part of yours. Its a beautiful theory because that way, I realize not to be upset over the past and accepting the change and inviting it. When we accept that what we are today will never become what we once were, we also realize that we don't just let go of people and things, we let go of those pieces of ourselves that were always meant to fit someone else's jigsaw. We were made to give away pieces of ourselves and collect pieces of other people so that we would become exactly like the starry sky during night. Each piece is a star, but unique in its own way. And it makes the sky look so pretty, don't you agree?
So maybe the reason it hurts is because our mind is well aware that we're losing a part of ourselves and that's why it even physically hurts sometimes. Because my dear, letting go of people is a phase. Losing a piece of you, that's why you feel loss.
But think of it like this : all those broken pieces of you are like raindrops and they have, in the end, just one simple goal. To return back to the one who is the cause of their existence. To return back to God. And God knows which piece to separate from you and which to keep. He knows which piece makes you a better version of yourself, a better person. And that's exactly why he makes sure you lose the ones that stop your progress or are an obstacle in your path towards him.
I'm not the most spiritual person to exist but I do believe in God. So if you don't, maybe you didn't read the whole thing but if you did, thankyou.
